Avoiding That Fearful Thud

Avoiding That Fearful Thud

15 May, 2017

If you are living in an area where there are many birds and trees, or where there are many kids playing together and running around, then you are most probable to fear a loud thud on a door or a window. You fear whether a door will be broken by being hit by an object or a window being cracked after being hit by a bird. Whatever it is, we all fear any loud thud on our house. No one likes to get any of their possessions destroyed, especially by strangers. If you are looking for ways to avoid your doors and windows being broken, here are a few steps you can follow.

Avoiding Bird Attacks

Clear windows cause birds to fly directly into it which sometimes even cause deaths than physical damage to the window. When a window is clear, it reflects the atmosphere outside and birds tend to see trees and the sky and fly right through to the glass. If this has been happening in your house and you need a way to help the birds and protect your windows, you should consider getting angled windows. When a window is angled it does not reflect the atmosphere outside. You can consider getting patterned glasses for your existing windows. Birds cannot see through patterned glass even if humans can. Therefore it avoids them to fly towards the glasses. UV reflective glasses are another great way to avoid birds flying into windows. You will be able to see outside but it would avoid the birds to fly in. Other than changing the glasses there are ways you can avoid bird attacks by placing items outside the architectural windows that gives a perfect appearance. You can use tape strips, bug screens and wind chimes outside the window to avoid birds flying through. If you think about it, you are helping in saving a bird’s life indirectly but making a few changes in your windows.

Avoiding Children

If you have kids playing around in your neighborhood and is becoming a nuisance to you, you should consider moving away. It is unfair to ask children to stop playing or penalize them for being kids. Of course you could be strict and politely explain them you are facing a difficulty but if you need a peaceful environment you need to look for it. You cannot ruin someone else’s joy and happiness to create your own. If a child breaks your window, you can speak to their parents and explain what happened. The parents will take charge from that point onwards and do the needful if timber window replacement is needed. You need to keep in mind that laws related to children are strict than how it was back when you were a kid.By following the above steps you can avoid the unnecessary repairs, death of birds and even be a better neighbor than you used to be.
